The Certificate of Registration as a Citizen of the European Union (“CRUE”) is available to European citizens who are members of the European Union and members of the Schengen area if they stay here for more than 3 months. - Tax identification number
- Passport;
- Proof of address in Portugal (rental contract, public deed);
- Proof of income (bank statement);
- In some town halls, it is necessary to make an appointment in advance in order to submit an application for a certificate of residence as a citizen of the European Union.

Yes.. European citizens must be physically present in order to obtain a CRUE. It is not possible to obtain the CRUE through a Power of Attorney.

A fee of €15 euros is payable to obtain the European Union certificate.
